1. Public Relations Manager
Public relations managers are responsible for developing and executing PR campaigns to promote the company and its products. PR managers also manage relationships with the media, and respond to any inquiries or negative press.
2. Head of Corporate Communications
The head of corporate communications is responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy that will build and maintain a positive image of the company. They create effective communication plans, manage media relations, and oversee internal and external communications. Head of Corporate Communications also responsible for looking after the PR activities and leading them.
3. Government Affairs
The government affairs specialist is responsible for developing and executing a government affairs strategy. They build relationships with government officials and lobby for the company’s interests. In order to be successful, the specialist must be able to navigate the complex web of politics and understand the inner workings of government.
4. Media Relations Specialist
The media relations specialist is responsible for developing and executing a media relations strategy. They manage all communications with the media, and ensure that the company’s message is communicated effectively to the public. This may include issuing press releases, arranging interviews, and maintaining contact with reporters. In order to be successful in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, be able to think on your feet, and be able to handle stress. You should also have a deep understanding of the media landscape, and be able to identify reporters who may be interested in covering your story.
5. Social Media Manager
The social media manager is responsible for developing and executing a social media strategy. They must create and manage all company social media accounts, and ensure that the company’s message is communicated effectively to the public. This may include creating and publishing content, running social media ads, and responding to comments and questions.
Public relations is a very broad field. Finding a major in public relations that matches your needs and interests is crucial because there are numerous varieties of the field.
