For those who are not familiar, the ACE (Advanced Communications for Executives) series is the line-up of programmes by SCoRe for communications professionals with one-six years of experience.
The series consists of short-term, part-time programmes like crisis communications, political communications, content development, writing skills among others. The upcoming programme is ACE Digital.
ACE Digital was created and carefully designed keeping in mind the condition of the Indian PR profession. Our profession is increasingly becoming dependent on our awareness of digital media. There is a crucial need for us (as consultants) to include the ‘digital’ strategy when planning our communications approach at large. While there are a lot of reasons for this change, including technological advancement and fast-pace adoption of internet, the two biggest reasons for this revolution, according to me are – (1) Growing credibility of owned media (2) Popularity of social media. Today, brands need to be hands on creating their own content and also be able to sell it successfully. Which means, you (as a brand communicator) are not only responsible to generate content by way of blogs but also plan them in a manner that they are SEO effective and friendly. While planning the communications strategy in 2015 one MUST understand various facets of social media. This does not only include creating creative campaigns but also having a thorough knowledge of social media planning and buying.
SCoRe recognises that the digital medium of communication is fairly new. Hence there is a requirement for young and old communications professionals of today to not only be acquainted with this space but also be equipped to plan activities tailored for this medium. ACE Digital aims to address the urgent and important need of making PR professionals of today comprehend ‘how’ the digital works. Our objective (through ACE Digital) is to make sure, that each and every Indian PR professional is armed with the knowledge of ‘the powerful’ ‘digital ecosystem.
