On the 5th of June 2020, we got an opportunity to interact with Mr. Ashish Mishra<\/a>, editor in Chief at The Morning Context<\/a>.\u00a0 He started his journey as a trainee journalist on the ET desk in 2006 and as he recalls his first piece was on a tattoo parlor, writing about different kinds of tattoos, then covering long in-depth feature stories for Forbes magazine India, thereafter he joined Mint, worked there for 2 years writing feature articles, covering start-ups and then with his old colleagues he worked for The Ken.<\/span><\/p>\n

He shared about the main idea behind The Morning Context, which is all about writing a fewer number of stories which give maximum value. It’s hard to make sense of the new world in which we are living now. He talked about, amid this pandemic where everyone is working from home, it’s difficult for journalists because journalists like to go on the ground to cover the stories, which they are unable to do so.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He talked about what’s going on across the world, it is scary if you sit and try to scan everything from the migrant crisis in Europe to the police brutality in the US, it shows us that how unpredictable the world is, and things like this shakes up the belief system of a person.<\/span><\/p>\n

Journalists and Communication professionals will thrive in this world, he emphasized, but we need to seek answers to difficult questions, as journalism is changed significantly. Today anybody can be a journalist, it’s that easy. Information is coming from all the sources, he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Press conferences are disappeared; he shared, as our prime minister hasn’t had a press conference in the longest time. Donald Trump is using twitter, where his communication is directionless which is instead of solving, motivating the crisis, and unleashing chaos.<\/span><\/p>\n

Reputation management is going to be more complex and challenging but fruitful as well, he shared. Everyone has a voice in this new world with huge followers, which will create complex situations as we move further. In the end, he shared that it’s a privilege to be in this situation, we will get an opportunity to solve big problems in the peak of our career, and it will define who we are, we will create a better functioning world together.<\/span><\/p>\n
