Media Relations<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Among the various types of PR practices, this is perhaps the most common. Media relations is all about\u00a0handling\u00a0the media \u2013 writing press releases, scheduling interviews and giving press conferences. The goal is\u00a0to get\u00a0positive coverage of your company or your product. Key to media relations is generating a \u2018hook\u2019 to\u00a0attract\u00a0audiences. Compelling storytelling with\u00a0a combination\u00a0of conviction goes\u00a0a protracted\u00a0way. Media relations people\u00a0have to\u00a0be excellent forward planners and also very flexible.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Corporate_and_Social_Responsibility\"><\/span><strong>2. Corporate and Social Responsibility<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This PR requires\u00a0to take care of\u00a0company\u2019s reputation for ethics, environmental responsibility, and community and charity works. It can hugely affect an organisation\u2019s business practices.To be\u00a0an honest\u00a0CSR professional should have good networking skills, people skills, persuasion\u00a0and therefore the\u00a0ability to endear yourself to your colleagues.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Public_Affairs\"><\/span><strong>3. Public Affairs<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Public affairs, also\u00a0called\u00a0lobbying, is all about getting\u00a0the govt.\u00a0on your side. Public affairs relates to matters that affect\u00a0the general public\u00a0directly,\u00a0like\u00a0legislation or public administration.\u00a0Due to\u00a0this, public affairs roles typically align with non-corporate entities,\u00a0like\u00a0government agencies or non-profits. These professionals are expected to be tenacious.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Crisis_Management\"><\/span><strong>4. Crisis Management<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Crisis management\u00a0is needed when a crisis strikes\u00a0because of\u00a0various reasons\u00a0associated with\u00a0the brand or company.\u00a0These incidents can ruin the company\u2019s reputation\u00a0and wish\u00a0to be\u00a0addressed\u00a0quickly. Crisis managers are quick thinkers who\u00a0know the way\u00a0to spin\u00a0a problem.\u00a0They understand every media channel\u00a0in order that they\u00a0can tell which problems needs a\u00a0press conference\u00a0and\u00a0which may\u00a0be solved with\u00a0one\u00a0tweet.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Social_Media\"><\/span>5. Social Media<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Many companies Digital PR because it has huge potential.\u00a0It is\u00a0an area\u00a0where interactions with\u00a0one\u00a0customer are visible to\u00a0the entire\u00a0world. It allows companies to open a two way communications with their stakeholders.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_Employee_Relations\"><\/span><strong>6. Employee Relations<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Also\u00a0referred to as\u00a0internal PR, employee relations\u00a0is essential for a business to give employees a positive view of\u00a0the brand\u00a0they work for.
