In my last blog, I talked about creativity. Whether it is a skill or a talent and why is it important for professionals in the 21st<\/sup>\u00a0century. In this blog, I decided to write about the second \u2018C\u2019 of Four Cs -Communication. Whatever you do in life it all comes down to your communication skills. It will prove whether you will succeed in a career or not and your relations. One can be great in doing his\/her job but might not be promoted as they might lack the communication skills as it is very important to have if you are going to lead.<\/p>\n

What is communication?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s expressing of clear ideas, crisp thoughts, solutions, emotions,\u00a0et cetera<\/em>. Verbal and written are not the only forms of communication but also our body language; how we react hence feedback, listening, and silence. The clear message and the right medium become very important in communicating.<\/p>\n

Why is it important?<\/p>\n

  1. For getting the job:<\/strong>\u00a0Communication is not only crucial for excelling in a workplace but first of all to getting in one, all organizations take interviews. And being able to communicate well in the interview is the only way one can crack an interview. According to the report, \u201cAre they really ready to work?\u201d\u00a0<\/em>employers said that most graduates lack verbal and written communication skills and these two are in the top four skills that employers seek in hiring new employees.<\/li>\n
  2. Nervous System:<\/strong>\u00a0It is the nervous system of any organization, it is used for external as well as internal stakeholders. Communications is used for everything from boosting the morale of employees to informing the target audience about the product or service.<\/li>\n
  3. Quality of a good leader:\u00a0<\/strong>Any leader should know how to communicate well. He\/she is the link between upper and lower management. They need to give correct instructions, interact with colleagues and clients, discuss problems,\u00a0et cetera.<\/em><\/li>\n
  4. Reputation building:\u00a0<\/strong>Communication is the only thing between a business and its customers. It can make or break any organization or business. We have seen many examples of how the use of effective communication and correct medium not only drive sales of a business but also builds its reputation. Apple is a great example of how it has built its reputation and maintained it over the years.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Communication is not only important for our professional lives but also our personal life. Imagine the level of misunderstandings within a family because of the unclear message. And the same can be said for the relationship between colleagues, clients, customers, and every stakeholder of the organization. Humans can\u2019t survive without communicating, I don\u2019t think we need any other reason to believe that we need to master this skill.<\/p>\n
