ToggleI’ve often found myself reflecting on the quality of professionals in the field of Public Relations or Corporate Communications. To support the improvement of industry standards and to provide aspiring professionals with a true understanding of the field, I’ve committed my time to teaching Corporate Communications as a topic at ScoRe.
Teaching as a visiting faculty at ScoRe comes with its own set of challenges. It requires additional time, effort, and dedication to guide students who are in the early stages of building their careers. It involves condensing years of experience into 15-20 hours of teaching while sharing real-world experiences.
One of the most rewarding aspects is embracing the challenges and interpretations presented by the students. Today’s generation is perceptive, articulate, and unafraid to question the status quo. Engaging in debates and delving deeper to explain situations feels like an additional degree for which I am truly grateful. It’s undeniable that students have the power to shape a teacher, and I am genuinely thankful for all the batches of students who have contributed to my deeper understanding of my own experiences and given me the ability to reflect on different situations to consider alternative approaches.
SCoRe provides a unique platform from which we are able to carve out our own curriculums based on broad topics, allowing us the freedom to create and deliver our own content. This flexibility makes the learning process enjoyable, whether through conventional teaching, workshopping topics, group projects, or any other format. For a student, to get access to industry professionals, most of whom are still practicing and bringing live examples into the classroom is quite unique. There aren’t too many courses or institutes I am aware of in India that does such an exercise and with this much depth.
Observing the quality of students who pass through the institute and witnessing their transformation into industry trailblazers within PR agencies or Corporate houses is incredibly fulfilling.
While I am aware that my efforts only contribute a fraction to the program, I extend my best wishes and congratulations to all the teachers, mentors, extended faculty, and course coordinators for their admirable dedication to nurturing the talent pipeline for this industry, ensuring its continuous growth and flourishing, one batch at a time.
