My first day at SCoRe was very enriching with the session we had with Madan Bahal, the Managing Director of Adfactors PR. An iconic person , yet down to earth and we, all the students of SCoRe, will remember his words for our lifetime. Today I will throw some light on his valuable words in this blog. The very first thing that he instructed us to do was to close our eyes and stay quiet at least for two minutes. The significance of this activity was that he wanted us to concentrate first. He explained us that before jumping on to anything new, we must pause a while , taking some deep breaths , we must introspect what we are, where are we standing and how we are going to start. We discussed about the key factors behind the success of a human being and the most important is to have a fearless mind. Most of the people can’t become successful because we all first anticipate what other people will think of us before even we try for anything. Additionally , he advised us to keep in mind for the rest of our lives that no matter whoever is getting the credit, we must have that sporting mentality to accept the reality and just because we haven’t got the appreciation for what good we did , that doesn’t mean we will reduce our efforts. So here the words of Swami Vivekananda are worth mentioning “Just devote yourself to the work and stop expecting anything in return”. Until and unless we become selfless and devote our mind fully to our duties and responsibilities we have, if we only just expect recognition and appreciation, we can’t do anything great.

Apart from all the valuable teachings of Madan Sir , at the end of his session, he also pointed out what should we follow to become a successful PR professional. Two important factors are punctuality and a continuous learning every day – can make us professionally successful. We learnt a lot in that session in an interactive way with Madan Sir. He answered all our questions happily and we all felt really blessed to have him with us as a mentor on the very first day of our SCoRe class. The wonderful session with Madan Bahal ended with a group photograph and obviously a mandatory happy-faces selfie!!
