Class of 2020 ended their journey at School of Communications and Reputation (SCoRe) with an enriching commencement address by Rahul Welde, EVP Digital Transformation at Unilever. It was a great session; Rahul Welde shared some very insightful thoughts with us.
He focused on 3 Cs
Commitment- This is something very important. Everybody has ambition in their life but the real challenge is to convert this ambition into reality. In order to achieve our goals, it is important to be committed. There are various levels of commitment such as commitment to yourself, commitment to society, and commitment to your organization. Whenever we talk about commitment, we should always keep in mind these three levels of commitment. This will help us to grow and achieve our goals. How committed are you? – A question we should always ask ourselves.
Contribution – Extremely important to focus on our contribution, what we bring to the table, what values we are adding. We must always try to keep track of our contribution, this will help us to figure out our strengths and weakness. We will be aware of our failures, which will help us to work more hard and rise up.
Compassion- Always think of compassion and kindness. Always be kind to others. There are people who are struggling and suffering, be kind. We should never forget where we came from. Always be humble and kind wherever you go.
Some of the key takeaways from his session are as follows:
∙ Attitude is altitude – Always have a positive attitude which radiates energy, enthusiasm and passion
∙ Always be open minded, be open to learn
∙ High learning mindset is extremely important
∙ We have to ensure that we remain a lifelong student – Always think of continuous learning
∙ Feedback is the breakfast of the champion – Take criticism openly
∙ Nobody assess you, you assess yourself – keep your scorecard high
With this, we come to the end of our PGDM program. But the learnings will continue. I want to thank Hemant Gaule, Co-Founder, School of Communications and Reputation and Amith Prabhu, Founding Dean, School of Communications and Reputation, for giving us the opportunity of interacting with such great leaders from the fraternity.
