In my last blog, I talked about creativity. Whether it is a skill or a talent and why is it important for professionals in the 21st century. In this blog, I decided to write about the second ‘C’ of Four Cs -Communication. Whatever you do in life it all comes down to your communication skills. It will prove whether you will succeed in a career or not and your relations. One can be great in doing his/her job but might not be promoted as they might lack the communication skills as it is very important to have if you are going to lead.
What is communication?
It’s expressing of clear ideas, crisp thoughts, solutions, emotions, et cetera. Verbal and written are not the only forms of communication but also our body language; how we react hence feedback, listening, and silence. The clear message and the right medium become very important in communicating.
Why is it important?
Communication is not only important for our professional lives but also our personal life. Imagine the level of misunderstandings within a family because of the unclear message. And the same can be said for the relationship between colleagues, clients, customers, and every stakeholder of the organization. Humans can’t survive without communicating, I don’t think we need any other reason to believe that we need to master this skill.
