After working as a freelancer Anchor in the field of event management for more than a decade, which is absolutely an informal world, and then entering Public Relations, working as an intern sounded like a real task. When I was appointed as an Outreach Manager by Hemant Gaule honestly I had no clue what an outreach manager does or what is his or her role.
So I Googled it and it said that ” An outreach manager is responsible for an organization’s public relations campaign for creating, bettering, or strengthening its relationship with the community”. The responsibility was overwhelming and I was not sure whether I was capable enough for it or not but thought of giving try.
My learnings & takeaways from PRep Talk – a series of seminars on Public Relations.
Listening to CEOs of PR firms, heads of corporate communications and senior professionals from the world of communications gave a clear picture of Public Relations. Every seminar came with new learnings, different perspectives, interesting concepts by the speakers.
Earlier I hesitated to draft a mail or strike a conversation with PR Professionals but now I grab every opportunity to initiate a conversation which in return gives me a lot of confidence. After every PRep Talk session when you receive appreciation mails it motivates you and pushes you to work harder.
The overall experience & learnings from Preptalk has been great and I feel amazing to have the liberty and opportunity to approach any professionals from the field of public relations and College Management ( HOD & Principal ).
I would like to thank Amith Prabhu my Friend Philosopher & Guide and Hemant Gaule my Mentor for giving me this opportunity.
