In this blog we talk about the SCoRe’s faculty members who have been our 10-month post-graduation programme at the School of Communication and Reputation (SCoRe) a success. We are fortunate to have faculty members who are seasoned professionals in these fields, bringing years of hands-on experience into our classrooms. I believe that as a public relations professional it’s my way to give back to the community. I am of the firm conviction that being able to distil the essence of our practice coupled with the latest stats and facts are what will greatly benefit future public relations aspirants. Also, by doing so not only will they be able to ascend far more rapidly in their respective careers but our entire profession will become far more enriched.
My teaching philosophy:
To serve as the good shepherd always watching over young hearts and minds, leading them to rich fields of learning, protecting them from incorrect thinking and guiding them to discover their own professional strengths.
My unique experience of teaching at SCoRe:
SCoRe offers an intimate learning environment where students are comfortable asking any questions they wish, where they can learn from the professional elite of the public relations field, expand their thinking through practical learning modules and thereby mature as future professionals. For me, it was a positive experience interacting with so many bright minds.
My advice to PR aspirants:
Always keep learning to further develop your craft and self in every aspect. In short, taking a holistic approach to one’s own development is what will set them up for even greater success. So, own it every day!
Rohan is a communication professional and currently serves as a Group Head at Adfactors PR, Mumbai office. He has spent over 16 years in the public relations/ communications field. His areas of expertise include brand management, communication strategy development and implementation, training, risk and reputation, content creation, social media, event management, influencer engagement and campaign impact measurement.
Prior to joining Adfactors PR, he served as a communication specialist at McKinsey & Company. On the PR firm side, he has also worked with Avian WE, MSL and WE Communications, where across each of his tenures he was afforded the opportunity to engage and support an array of clients from across several industry verticals that included aerospace, business and consumer technology, automobile, hospitality, retail, and real estate.
Aside from his professional duties, he serves as a visiting faculty member at the Xavier Institute of Communications (XIC) (Mumbai), the School of Communications and Reputation (SCoRe) (Mumbai) and the Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication (SIMC) (Pune).
Further, he has several other non-work-related pursuits that he is deeply passionate about. They include painting, photography, cycling and creative writing. Regarding the latter, he has authored two novels entitled I) Orion’s Children (science fiction) and II) The Colorful Mind Of Hybrid Black (biographical fiction).
