What inspired me to choose PR as my career: Blog by Simran Shah
What drives a young professional to step into the world of Public Relations? For me, it was the perfect mix of purpose, passion, and people.
My journey into Public Relations was not a straightforward one—it was a path of discovery, exploration, and ultimately, passion.
In college, I had little understanding of what PR truly entailed. But as I delved deeper, I realized that PR was the perfect blend of creativity, strategy, and communication. It wasn’t just about press releases or media coverage; it was about shaping narratives, building relationships, and creating a lasting impact.
After graduation, I was fortunate to be placed at one of the top PR agencies in India. Over the next two years, I worked across different sectors, gaining hands-on experience in media relations, crisis management, and brand strategy. The dynamic nature of PR kept me engaged, and every project was an opportunity to learn something new.
What excites me most about PR is its ever-evolving landscape. The rise of social media, influencer marketing, and digital storytelling has transformed the industry, allowing brands to connect with their audiences in real-time. The thrill of managing brand reputation, crafting compelling narratives, and navigating challenges makes PR a career that is both rewarding and fulfilling.
Another major factor that cemented my love for PR was the inspiration I drew from industry professionals. Observing successful campaigns and the strategic brilliance behind them made me admire the power of PR in shaping public perception.

The versatility of PR is another reason why I find this field so exciting. Whether it’s corporate communications, entertainment PR, political PR, or fashion PR, the possibilities are endless. The ability to explore different industries while using the same foundational skills ensures that no two days in PR are ever the same.
From someone who once had no idea what PR was to someone who now thrives in the industry, my journey has been transformative. Public Relations has not only given me a career but also a platform to make a difference. As I continue on this path, I look forward to learning, growing, and making an impact
Although I have yet to begin my journey at SCoRe, what excites me most is its hands-on learning approach and the invaluable opportunities to connect with industry leaders. From Day 1, students are treated as professionals, equipping them with the skills and mind-set needed to navigate the dynamic world of Public Relations. What truly sets SCoRe apart is its esteemed faculty—renowned PR and Corporate Communication leaders who bring real-world expertise into the classroom. The chance to learn directly from these professionals within the PR fraternity is one of the key reasons I am eager to pursue a career in Public Relations here at SCoRe.

Choosing to pursue a career in Public Relations is only the beginning; finding the right place to build that career is just as critical. SCoRe – the School of Communication and Reputation – is more than just a training institute. It is a career accelerator, a creative hub, and most importantly, a direct bridge between you and the heart of the Indian PR industry. Although there are many institutes offering communication programs, SCoRe stands apart—not just in what it teaches, but how and why it teaches.
First and foremost, SCoRe isn’t just another academic institution. Rather, it is India’s only PR school founded by the PR industry itself, namely by PRCAI (Public Relations Consultants Association of India). Therefore, everything taught at SCoRe is tailored to what the industry actually needs—not what outdated curriculums dictate.
Moreover, unlike traditional colleges, where you might learn in a vacuum, SCoRe embeds you directly within the industry. You don’t just study about media—you build media lists. You don’t just read about campaigns—you pitch real ones. Consequently, this kind of practical learning gives you a strong head start over peers from other institutes.
Additionally, SCoRe’s curriculum is refreshed annually to keep up with global trends. For instance, when influencer marketing surged, it was quickly integrated into the classroom. Likewise, crisis communication and digital PR modules were strengthened during the pandemic years, ensuring students stay relevant in a fast-changing industry.
SCoRe doesn’t just prepare you for your first job—it shapes you for a lifetime in communications. While most institutes focus solely on academic knowledge, SCoRe combines it with employability skills, industry mentorship, and leadership development.
From the very beginning, students at SCoRe are trained like PR professionals. Hence, you quickly learn the importance of professionalism, accountability, and quick thinking—traits that matter more than any textbook. Furthermore, workshops on business etiquette, presentation skills, and cross-cultural communication ensure you’re ready to interact with clients from any sector.
Unlike typical colleges where faculty may be academics, at SCoRe, your mentors are the actual players of the game. These include CEOs of PR agencies, heads of corporate communication departments, and experienced journalists. Because of this direct connection, you gain insights that are practical, current, and deeply rooted in reality.
In addition to formal instruction, each student is assigned a mentor from the PR industry. This mentor is your guide, sounding board, and often your first professional contact. Over time, such mentorship becomes a long-term support system that continues even after you graduate.
Since the industry is rapidly digitizing, SCoRe ensures that students are fully trained in the latest tools and trends—be it SEO, online reputation management, content strategy, or influencer engagement. Therefore, by the time you graduate, you are not just employable—you are future-ready.
While the duration of the program may be just 10 months, the experience is equivalent to years of industry exposure. The course is divided into multiple phases that build upon each other, ensuring that students grow steadily in skill and confidence.
The goal of SCoRe isn’t just to help you get a job—it’s to help you grow into a leader. Therefore, the institute continuously nurtures leadership qualities, strategic thinking, and ethical decision-making among its students.
According to industry leaders, SCoRe students bring with them a unique mix of confidence, clarity, and competence. Most CEOs of leading PR firms agree that SCoRe graduates are “client-ready from Day 1.”
Moreover, agency heads have pointed out that hiring from SCoRe saves them training time, as students are already aware of media protocols, client servicing, and crisis communication methods. Therefore, many agencies not only hire from SCoRe but actively participate in shaping its curriculum and projects.
If you are someone who’s passionate about communication, eager to learn, and ready to hustle—then yes, SCoRe could be the perfect fit. Although the journey may be demanding, the rewards are well worth it.
Whether you’re a fresh graduate wondering about your next step, or someone curious about entering a vibrant industry like PR, SCoRe equips you with everything needed to succeed—skills, exposure, and a powerful network.
