Have you wondered why some select articles received traction online organically? Why do some posts get large shares, likes, retweets and engagement without spending a single penny? Making content stand out on the internet without a paid engagement is not easy. However, certain simple tricks can help to achieve desired results.
Here are some ways to attract maximum eyeballs.
Relevance of Topic: People like to read about and express opinions on the current trends. Make sure the topic you choose to write on is relevant. If you write an analytical article on a match after a week, no one will be interested to read it. Timing is crucial in content marketing.
Stagger Posting: If you are writing a long-form article, try to create a series. Make sure you inform the readers about the upcoming part of the article. The attention span in online reading is limited. Try to stick to 500-700 words for better engagement. Simplify your content as much as possible and provide relevant references to establish the authenticity of your article.
Review and Update: Review your article regularly and make necessary updates. The beauty of online content is that it stays until you delete it, and there is unlimited scope for revisions and updates. Make the best of it. Images play a crucial role in attracting the reader’s attention. Make sure you insert appealing images and infographics in your article.
Catchy Heading: Headings are the first thing readers see and decide whether they want to open the link and read the entire content. My personal experience states that listicles and ‘how to’ articles get good engagement. Invest time in crafting eye-catchy headings.
Innovative Topics: Google analytics can give insights into what people want to read online. You may choose the highly searched topics but have limited resources available online. Such unique subjects can stand a chance to get traction. Certain websites can give you real insights into what people search online.
Reward Yourself: As I mentioned earlier, making your content hit free of cost is not an easy task. Hence, one needs to be patient and consistent. Do not get disappointed if your article or post did not receive expected hits. Instead, set small targets and reward yourself for incremental improvement in the content performance online.
