Our vision at SCoRe has been to enable a constant flow of knowledge across the fraternity. Since the school was just an idea on our blue print, we have consistently sought insights from leaders and practitioners from our communications fraternity.
We tried to understand the skills on which we should focus, and the nature of platforms that should be created. Resultantly we have ideated, brought to life and piloted several platforms for learning.
One such platform that has been fairly well received is The ENGAGE Series. In these monthly learning sessions, experts from corporate communications, public relations and other media services space share their learnings and wisdom with their younger peers. The interactive sessions are also targeted to facilitate increasing understanding of communications needs and how to translate into actionable strategies.
When communications professionals undertake a remarkable campaign, there is something for everyone to learn and take away. Young professionals can see how fast the world is changing, how to perfectly understand a client’s needs and translate them into actionable ideas. They also get to witness how success is measured. On October 29th, we hosted corporate communications heads of Google India, Amazon India, SoftBank International and PepsiCo India to a packed house of communicators. The speakers shared deep insights on how they tackle communications goals in their respective spheres.
We are making its 5th edition larger, we have invited globally acclaimed speaker, author and consultant of social media marketing – Mark Schaefer to host a day long learning session for communications folks. As a part of his second visit to India, Mark will take nine Master classes on various areas of social media marketing, focusing on how content and distribution strategies can be deployed to influence audiences. ENGAGE with Mark Schaefer will not only bring a global perspective to how social media marketing is used to achieve business goals, but will also help the delegates present brainstorm together on how their particular business ecosystems can get influenced.
So far, seen interest from PR consultancies, in-house corporate communications professionals and senior practitioners from digital media agencies, signalling that a healthy mix of backgrounds will be represented at the session. We have also partnered with PRomise Foundation to make participation more affordable for professionals who have the intent to learn. Besides this, there are two complimentary participations that will be handed out; those interested may blog in <400 words why they deserve to be a part of the event, and tweet us the link to their blog @SCoReInd.
Our hope through these platforms is to propagate a culture of continuous learning among communications professionals. Once such a trend sets and a habit is formed, we will move faster towards a richer and better-rounded talent pool in our profession.
